Family Law Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Job Description
We’re growing! Heimerl & Lammers is seeking an organized and ambitious legal assistant to support our family law practice. Qualified candidates will have the ability to work efficiently and independently; manage high volumes of tasks and projects; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; think creatively and be proactive in solving problems that affect clients and staff. The candidate will also be client-service oriented, have great attention to detail, great organization skills, and have the ability to easily switch gears. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, as well as the ability to work well with people.
Job Duties:
- Support paralegals and family law attorneys
- Manage and organize incoming and outgoing documents from clients, other attorneys, etc.
- Document reproduction such as printing, copying, scanning
- Track court and document deadlines
- Conduct eFiling through the court’s online eFiling system
- Maintain and update client files
- Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate
- Other duties as requested
Required expertise and experience:
- Will demonstrate a high level of responsibility, teamwork, and dedication to accuracy and thoroughness in work product
- Must be able to work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
- Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and competency with technology
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility to prioritize workflow
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
