Originally a South Dakota resident, Anna attended the University of South Dakota and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in creative writing. While attending the University of South Dakota, Anna interned with the Department of Social Services in their Child Protection Services Division where she assisted family service specialists on complex family issues. This experience directed Anna’s interest in assisting families in need.
Anna then attended the University of St. Thomas School of Law and graduated in 2023. Throughout law school, Anna worked as a law clerk in family law, wills, trusts & estates, criminal prosecution, and criminal defense. Before her second year of law school, Anna became a Student Certified Attorney for the Washington County Attorney’s Office and represented the State of Minnesota in first appearances, extraditions, and bail hearings. Anna also successfully drafted a brief for the Minnesota Court of Appeals on a family law issue as a law clerk at a Twin Cities law firm. Anna also interned at the Hennepin County Family Justice Center, where she drafted orders and collaborated with the court on complex family law issues as observed in the courtroom.
During law school, Anna was also a lead peer mentor and research assistant for the Mentor Externship Program, assisting law students in navigating their relationships with their mentors. Anna also volunteered as a WATCH Court Monitor, a program for combating human-sex trafficking, and was President of the St. Thomas School of Law student organization Wellness in Practice, which focused on student mental and financial wellbeing.
Anna joined our firm as a law clerk in May of 2023. Today, Anna is a practicing attorney in our family law group. She hopes to build an effective and well-rounded practice in all aspects of family law. Anna has a strong commitment to tailoring her practice to her clients’ lived-experiences as she understands that every family and person is unique.
At her leisure, Anna can be found spending time with friends and family, attending concerts, tending to her indoor plants, or playing recreational softball. Anna also enjoys hiking, painting, and reading.
