Firm Announcement | July 2024
We are proud to announce that our own Carlo Faccini has been nominated as president of the Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) for the 2024-2025 term. This prestigious appointment recognizes Carlo’s dedication to the field of family law and his vision for its future.
What is the AFCC? The AFCC is an international interdisciplinary organization leading the way in child-centered, conflict-resolving approaches to family law. It unites professionals from various fields, including mental health, finance, and education, all working towards better serving children and families.
Carlo’s historic involvement with the AFCC spans several years, during which he has taken on multiple key roles. He has served as co-committee chair of the Legislative and Public Policy Committee, tackling important policy initiatives, while also planning annual membership conferences. Furthermore, Carlo’s leadership extends to serving as both a director on the board and Secretary of the executive board. These diverse responsibilities showcase his comprehensive understanding of the organization and his commitment to its mission.
Inspired by his experience, Carlo has outlined several goals for his presidency. These include improving resource accessibility and increasing member involvement across the state. Additionally, he aims to engage with the student population, inviting them to take an active role within the AFCC. Carlo stated: “Investing in students today will strengthen the association’s longevity, ensuring a pipeline of well-informed and passionate members.”
The final act of Carlo Faccini’s presidency will be in his one-year term as Emeritus, wherein he will host the 2026 AFCC-MN annual conference. This event will showcase Carlo’s strategic vision and provide invaluable education and insight for members.
The family law community anticipates Carlo’s transformative presidency and, here at Heimerl & Lammers, we look forward to following his journey with the AFCC-MN.
